acjc band exchange today...travelling there was not exactly enjoyable..i was still suffering from the aftereffects of yesterday's run..headache and muscle aches..on the train..dumb people kept staring at me with irritation and my instrument case as if it contained a bomb...i was so considerate i did my best to stay out of the way.. met xinlin at bueno vista mrt station...we lugged our instruments a long way to the bus stop...trust me my skin could have ripped..by the time we reached acjc..we were drenched with perspiration... we were split into groups..had some introduction before we proceeded to games...i felt somewhat anti-social but opened up a little in the process...it was really enjoyable..and sweaty..we played wacko, catch the flag, captain's ball and another game which i cannot remember the name.. sectionals...i was intimidated by the number of euphonium players and the professional look on all their faces..turns out they are really good...in terms of tone, intonation, range, sight-reading, rhythms blah blah blah..i felt extra sucker-ish..sian...just realised how terrible my sight-reading is...the other sec 4s picked up the songs really fast..so i was just a tiny minow there struggling to keep up...oh!oh!oh!and i found out that the j2s played festive overture before!!!!!!!!i was almost hyperventilating when i heard it!!!!my favourite song...omg...T_T combine practice was a real eye-opener for me..the precision and sight-reading skills were madness...but i enjoyed it a lot..u dont get such a wonderful feeling playing in secondary band...the passion and desire for perfection hardly exist...it really makes me want to get into band in jc but i cant do itT_T i would not be able to make it in..would I? |
